The suffering of the Indonesians has reached an unbearable level. The reports on the destruction of Chinese shops, place of worships, and other facilities are the indication of the helplessness of Indonesians in searching for reasonable alternatives.  The fact is those riots were engineered by the political elite to divert the attention of our nation from the primary problems to secondary issues.

Motivated by the sense of brotherhood, the respect for human rights, and the Christian conviction that has been exemplified by Jesus Christ, the fica-net mailing list community - together with Indonesia Actual News newspaper - will appeal for your financial donation to help Indonesians adequately receive the nine staple foods.

The donation will be channeled via our contact in Indonesia - the Indonesian Christian Communication Forum (Indonesian CCF) - and we will let them decide the distribution of the donation to various places that need help. The various CCF branches that will be responsible in handling the donation :

1. Please send the check or money order to one of the places listed above.

2. After sending the donation, please notify via email the person  (Mr. Lim or Mr. Sianipar) you sent the donation to of the incoming check or money order.

3. After the donation is received, you will receive an acknowledgement  via email or regular mail that the donation has been received.Whenever possible we will utilize email to save time and money.

4. Periodically we will report the total donation.  To protect confidentiality we will not post the donators. Upon request we will release the names.

5. The donation will be wired to Indonesia once a week, or whenever condition  allows, via the least expensive and safest way.

Due to the fact that we do not know when the crisis of Nine Staple Foods will end, we have not decided when this pledge for donation (PMKIS) will be closed.
