Join us for a conversation about Social Enterprise in Indonesia from two of our FICA Alumni who’ve established their own Social Enterprise!
We’ll talk about why their enterprises have a social focus along with their experience combining that with a business mindset.

Speakers biodata:
Tommy Tjiptadjaja (greenhope.co)
Tommy is a social entrepreneur in the field of bioplastic technology and biodegradable plastics as Greenhope’s Co-Founder and CEO. Tommy is active in the World Economic Forum international forum as a Schwab Social Entrepreneur, an expert in the field of sustainability and plastic waste management. Tommy got an MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago in the United States and also Executive Education from Harvard University. After working and living in the United States and several European countries for 10 years, Tommy returned to Indonesia with a dream to contribute positively to the people and environment of Indonesia. Tommy worked as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group dealing with the enormous challenges of various companies and state institutions. Tommy received an award from Real Leaders magazine in the United States as the top 100 Visionary Leaders (http://real-leaders.com/spring-2018/) and Unreasonable Goals Fellow (https://unreasonablegroup.com/initiatives/unreasonable-goals/ ).
During his studies, Tommy was active in Indonesian Christian Fellowship (ICF) and the Fellowship of Indonesian Christians in America (FICA). Tommy and his wife Sofia raised their two home-schooled daughters. He loves reading and playing board games with his family.
Ellen V. Toeante (sfofarms.com)
Ellen is a microbiologist with a farmer’s heart and an entrepreneur’s spirit. With her husband , Hence Toeante, they are the founder of Simply Fresh Organics Farms. The main focus of their farms have been educating farmers about organic farming techniques thus playing a big role in preserving the soil where they are farming on for future generations. They are currently farming on 20 hectares of certified organic land, growing about 70 different crops and supplying to about 100 stores in the Greater Jakarta area. Their expertise is organic farming methods, lean farm management, and fresh supply chain management.
Ellen and her husband are both Texas graduates and both were actively involved in ICF (Indonesian Christian Fellowship) and FICA (Fellowship of Indonesian Christian in America) during their college years.
They are a homeschooling family with a teenager, a preteen and a golden retriever in their household.
You can always find Ellen in her kitchen doing some experiments in her spare time or just lounging around reading books, those are her two favorite things to do.
